Construction begins on Fingerprint’s Plaza Place apartments at Carseldine Village

Construction has commenced on Plaza Place, marking the delivery phase of Fingerprint’s first apartment project within the Carseldine Village precinct in Brisbane’s north. The start of works was recognised with a sod turning ceremony held on site with project teams, Chief Executive Officer Julian Simmonds, and Cr Sandy Landers from Brisbane City Council in attendance. This formally marking the transition of the project from planning into construction.

The development is the debut project for Fingerprint, the residential brand led by Ben De Luca, son of property developer Nic De Luca, representing the next generation behind Deluca Corporation, which has delivered construction and development projects across Southeast Queensland since 1994.

Plaza Place is a $65 million development that will deliver 70 two-bedroom apartments. The project sits alongside the Village Heart retail and lifestyle centre, which is also under construction and will form the commercial core of the precinct.

Ben De Luca said reaching construction was an important milestone for Fingerprint and reflected a focus on execution.

“Moving into construction confirms our intent to deliver housing in established locations with strong supporting infrastructure already in place,” he said.

“It also reflects the level of coordination required to bring apartment projects forward in well planned precincts.”

Plaza Place forms part of the broader Carseldine Village precinct, which has been master planned by Economic Development Queensland. The project is the first mainstream apartment building to commence construction within the community.

Earlier stages of Carseldine Village have already delivered 181 town homes, a 98 place C&K childcare centre, a 150-bed aged care facility operated by Regis, 18 hectares of rehabilitated bushland, and new sporting and recreational facilities known as The Green.

Economic Development Queensland has worked closely with Fingerprint and Deluca Corporation over the past two years to support the progression of the development. This collaboration has focused on ensuring the project remained viable while maintaining the quality and long-term vision for the precinct.

Alongside Plaza Place, Deluca Corporation is delivering the Village Heart, a $45 million retail, medical and lifestyle centre anchored by an IGA supermarket and supported by allied health, fitness and dining operators.

With construction now underway, Plaza Place represents the next stage in the evolution of Carseldine Village from a master planned precinct into an established residential community.
