When I started my business journey in the 90’s, a key driver and goal was to create an environment where I knew my people, and they knew their value to me and the business. This driver was borne out of having spent almost a decade working for other organisations in our industry where I felt I was just a resource, providing a service, with little personal value.
Fast forward almost 30 years, and I am proud to say that this goal remains front and centre for myself and our business. We discuss our people daily at all levels of the business, and our executive is clearly focused on helping our people become the best versions of themselves. As with all growing businesses, this is often easier said than done, however at Deluca there is a genuine focus and commitment within the business to be the best we can, with the tools we have and which we are continually creating. Our efforts in this space were recently recognised by our peers when we were voted one of the top 10 places to work in Australia by the AFR in 2021 and 2023, something we are extremely proud of.
