Kmart Oxenford

De Luca worked hand-in-hand with client, Kmart, to construct the first stand-alone Kmart store in Australia. The 6200 m2 space at Oxenford on Queensland’s Gold Coast consists of:

• 5000 m2 ground floor including retail floor and back of house areas
• 1200 m2 first floor complete with store room, staff amenities and office spaces
• State of the art loading dock complete with automated loading dock leveler
• Two rainwater tanks installed on the property, providing 693 Kilolitres of water combined (413 kl and 280 kl capacities)
• 184 lot car park complete with five trolley bays and landscaped gardens

Kmart stores are generally located within shopping centres, however in this instance De Luca’s design and construction teams assisted to ensure the plans were suitable for the construction of the stand-alone design.

The team also worked with the clients fit-out crew who began installation and merchandising 6 weeks prior to handover, ensuring trade commenced on the first day of  the handover. The project team delivered the Kmart Oxenford store in just 31 weeks despite multiple inclement weather events, to handover the project 1 day ahead of practical completion.
