De Luca was approached by the client to construct an office and warehouse space with a 22,000 m2 shipping container hardstand area.
The nature of the site itself provided substantial challenges to the Design and Construction Teams, as was located on an existing swamp. Combined with the requirement to construct the shipping container hardstand area to withstand high loads, the complex nature of the project required precision engineering for the post tensioned and concrete piled hardstand to withstand the load.
The site also featured an Energex easement; for which a fully approved site management plan was provided to the client, ensuring compliance with all aspects of working under 110,000KW transmission lines for future tenants.
The result included a high quality commercial office space with solar efficient screening, and a concrete hardstand with the capacity to load five containers high. De Luca also worked with the client to re-establish part of the site backing onto an estuary to ensure environmental impacts were minimalised.
